This was really helpful for me. I really got to think through technique without having to worry too much about messing up a full painting. I like these tips, thanks.
Loves the short lesson, it really helped practice and understand light and shadow.
Absolutely loved this short lesson. So many mistakes I see with my florals: drying, understanding multiple layers on pots.
Ginger, please consider doing a short tutorial on painting “folds” in cloth; another short tutorial on painting a full elm tree in summer months.
Loved this short lesson.
I love how it pinpointed a few specifics, in a short amount of time.
I am trying to get back into painting by doing a painting a day…..this type of lesson is perfect for practicing techniques.
thank you
Thank you. This was very helpful.
This was very helpful, Ginger. It does clarify the flowers for me, though I think I am doing better in that regard….every little bit helps. I so appreciate the fact that you truly are concerned about us learning and improving. You have helped me grow so much and I am loving it! I still find it hard to believe i am able to produce the paintings I have up till now……it is thrilling, to be perfectly honest! Art hugs from Michigan!!
I liked this lesson .my take away is drying,!will try soon.
Very helpful. Love the short ones that help me with one particular problem. I do want to see more of these types of lessons. BTW, I now have a hair dryer next to my easel…lol. Love you!
Very helpful. I like these short tutorials demonstrating basic concepts. I have been with you a year and I am still unsure of myself. Demonstrations of basics are very helpful.
Thank you, very helpful, sometimes we cannot do it by instinct alone.
This is a wonderful tutorial.. would love to see more of ones like this. Loved the hints to write down, (start in the middle and work your way out)
Excellent tutorial to help with shading and contrast
Wonderful lesson Ginger!! So helpful!! Would for sure want to see more of these kind of lessons! Artsy hugs!
Very nice tutorial…yes, please keep the gems coming. I’ve taken art classes before, but no one has gone into the depth that you’ve taken the time to go into to ensure the student knows how boxes & containers should appear in a painting. Shadows, painting boxes correctly for a gorgeous effect never taught like this in my art journey.
Thanks so much, Ginger. Again, please keep these coming. Eventually we will all, “unify facts” and every aspect of our paintings will be perfection.
Thank you Ginger! Your gems are always helpful to everyone!
Very helpful, this was one of the first things I learned early on in this academy and it has carried thru. Flowers are one of my favorite things to paint.
This is so helpful Ginger. Sometimes it’s hard during a lesson to see the details of what you are doing with your brush. It just looks like magic appearing on the canvas. I really appreciate hearing the detailed explanation. I would love more of these type lessons. Perhaps one showing the formation of different types of flowers?
I’ve learned that this is what’s hard for me: having a a fully loaded paintbrush and wiping the paint off on the rag! I don’t want to waste the paint. That sounds nutty. Gotta work on it.
Thank you Ginger! This is so helpful and you demonstrated and explained perfectly! Art Hugs
Great lesson. Love to see more like this
Loved this lesson Ginger, thank you, beginning to get it 💖
This is a super video I like how the subject matter is limited and you showed two different approaches to achieve the same results. Well worth anyone’s time to watch and learn about light source, blending, layering and how important it is to dry. Thank you! Happy New Year
Very helpful, Ginger. I’m excited about the short ‘basics’ lessons coming up. Thank you!!
Thanks Ginger. I think this broke it down so well. Very helpful.
Thanks Ginger, I LOVE painting flower pots and flowers. Always helpful to get a reminder on doing them too. Hugs
This was very helpful, thanks for explaining it in great detail.
This is super helpful Ginger! I always struggle with rocks, flowers basically random patterns and you explained it so very well. I am going to practice it more using these techniques. Thank you so much! 🤗🙏
Thank you so much, Ginger. It’s very very useful. This type of lessons will help us to deal with the “simple” techniques which are not simple for the beginners.
Couple of things: I love this type of short tutorial that focuses on specific aspects of the painting process. I already see something I’ve been doing poorly. Second, I am also guilty of painting a layer, then walking away to do something else while that layer dries. I have my hairdryer right next to my desk, but I guess in my mind I’m multi-tasking! Hahaha
Anyway, thanks so much for this very helpful tutorial. Appreciate all you do for us.
