In this lesson, "Mulberry Hill in Autumn", Ginger shows you how to start from a smaller sketch painting, 9x12, and enlarge it to this beautiful 18x24 masterpiece. Some new color of paints were also used in this lesson.
Make sure that you watch the lesson on adjusting contrast before attempting this lesson. Also, plan on watching this lesson through before you begin. There is a lot of great information in the tutorial.

This is amazing! I’m going to attempt it. I wonder, though, the light orange paint on the palette, what orange is it? It doesn’t seem like it was one Ginger mixed. Will Cad Orange work? There is no orange in the list of paints in the supplies list.
I don’t mind watching every brush stroke. I am here to learn to paint by the best instructor there is. Regards Ginger and Jon
These lessons are fenomenal! Just hearing how well Jon n Ginger work together under pressure is a lesson by itself!
THIS LESSON IS FENOMENAL. ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS IMPORTANT AS SOMETIMES GINGER IS NOT SINGING THE COLOR COMBINATIONS AS SHE MOVES ALONG. FASCINATING LESSON .
I m enjoying watching the lessons 😁 However, I m not sure if I m willing to work with such much detail. The small size brushes are so time consuming to work with. I admire Ginger for her great dedication in transferring so much knowledge.
Ginger, would not it be easier to paint the mortar before painting the rocks? it seems to me that the other way around is eye sight killer.
Stunning picture. Great lesson. Thank you for not editing out details or introducing speed painting. One of the best lessons is that painting a masterpiece like this takes thoughtful process even when replicating a painting you have already done. In this high-speed, instant gratification world, its nice to have you, Ginger and Jon, to turn to see what it really takes to get a quality result – an investment of time and effort. I am very glad you let us see how many times Ginger repainted the windows and rocks, etc. Gives me, as your student, more realistic expectations of what I will need to do. So many thanks. Watched the lesson….now looking forward to trying the painting!
This painting looks like a whole jar of cookies. I will try to paint it. Great video.
I absolutely love this lesson, what a beautiful painting. The filming is great second time watched it completely before I begin. I have it sketched amazing you did this in 6 hrs. might take me 6 days or months lol, but I so look forward to giving it my best efforts. Thank you both for another fantastic lesson
I think Ginger lost her Mic in this last segment fyi … nevertheless a beautiful masterpiece … will paint as a gift for my husband he loves it
Annette, yes, once again, we had mic issues, but the content was just too good to cut out! Thanks for the compliment.
No speed painting. I want to see every brush stroke Ginger. It’s an amazing tutorial!
Fantastic camera tracking,!
Thank you, Sally. It’s not always very easy to keep track of Ginger’s movements!
I love, love this! I know it takes a long time to do, but for me, that is the way I learn by watching! Thanks you so much for an absolutely beautiful painting! I think it is my favorite so far, even better than the old dead guys!
I appreciate the more challenging lesson that this provides. I believe it is better for Ginger to paint on an easel for these larger pictures so this format for shooting is good. As mentionedby Jon there are some bugs to work out, such as Ginger losing her microphone for a while making it very difficult to hear what she is saying. I look forward to giving this lesson a try.
Thank you Ginger for teaching us this magnificant painting! I agree with others that watching every stroke of your genius strokes is helpful! I can’t thank you and Jon enough!
My vote would be to see them all in real time, it also gives us time to keep up, speed painting I would think would make us further behind, in my opinion , and as Jon said the ones who prefer it could speed the video. It is more knowledgeable watching every stroke.
Additional Comment…. I would like to see it all. Having no speed painting is what sets you apart from other online courses. Speed painting is the most annoying thing in my opinion. Take all the time you need… loll…. I learn from every brush stroke and every mistake you make and correct. I generally watch a lesson in it’s entirety and mark the time down on areas I feel I would like to re-watch while painting…(sock folder in me). Your format is most definitely the best thing out there and is what sets you apart as a real fine art academy!!!!
Couldn’t agree more on speed painting! To a beginner like me it doesn’t serve any purpose any more than a photo of the painting
This was the most interesting and informative lesson of all. The way Ginger and Jon leads you from start to finish without skipping steps is a key element to success. The larger version on an easel is the way I paint and I really needed to see this with the palette cam and all the angles. Just a prefect lesson format. Felt like I was in the room with both of them creating a master work of art. Thank you so very much for this amazing lesson. Hope you do more like this in the future. Just can’t say enough about it. Love to you both. Andrew.
Loved this lesson, from start to finish! Awesome job, Ginger and Jon. I am painting along with you but of course, I take a lot longer to do it than you do! Thank you both so much.
Absolutely Loving this tutorial. Can’t wait to try it after I finish painting that’s in progress. Currently am watching part 8 and my vote is for every brush stroke. please don’t speed paint anything, as a learner I would like to see every brush stroke especially when it comes to such detailed painting. Thanks you Ginger and Jon!
