Hi Jon and Ginger….Would I be able to use heavy gloss gel instead? I don’t have modelling paste and our nearest art store is an hour away.
Gave it a try on a canvas sheet, I don’t have the scraping tool either so just used an old hard toothbrush, it gave it some texture but does not look the same as Ginger’s. I think it worked fine, would have been better with the proper scraper though. There is a definite sheen to it, but once varnished with matte will that get rid of the glossiness?
Want to add that I tried the gel without color or matte medium first and then the second time I mixed it with burnt umber. They came out about the same.
