Seeing this painting hanging on my wall always gives me such a joy! Thank you so much for this beautiful tutorial Ginger and Jon. What a classic!
I absolutely love this painting and can’t wait to get started, although I think it would be a great one to work on during the winter months. I love all the little sticky notes, etc. on the desk, too.
The video ran beautifully for me,just fyi, although I am writing this 2-3 years later than the first ones.
I’ve done his other book painting with the ink pot and quill and so enjoyed it. I too am a great lover of books and every tutorial that is offered with books, beckons me.
Thanks for all the time you both put into these videos for we who are aspiring artists.
Blessings and art hugs,
Mary
just finished the drawing…..looking forward to painting tomorrow………..beautiful work Ginger…..thank you so much for all that you do for me and others. ….will probably dream that i am painting tonite…..ya….i am wierd….lol.
Margaret,
Thank you for the kind words! You aren’t the only one that has painting on their mind as they sleep. Remember to you use the Personal Art Coaching that Ginger offers.
GInger, you used Australian Sienna in this painting and I went to Michael’s and Aaron Brothers and neither carry it. I don’t like to shop Amazon because it might become a bad habit. I cringe when other people ask you for substitute colors, but here I am doing it too.
Catherine never hesitates to ask for help. Ginger says, use Azo Gold by Golden and touch of transparent Burnt Sienna, this will add a touch of brown to the mix and be very close to the Australian Sienna.
Can I ask who the original artist was?
Maureen,
This was done by an artist named William Michael Harnett.
Do you have the traceable as a jpg? It’s really hard to print the PDF to an 8.5 X 11 printer in thirds so it can be tapped together.
Dave, you can click on the image that’s on the “Tutorial” tab and it will pop up and you can do a “right-click” on that image and SAVE the image. If you don’t understand what I’m saying here, let me know through the Contact Us form.
Dear Ginger, love the way you are painting this picture, you are a great artist!! Arnet would have been so proud to know that you are doing some of his work!!! I been in North Ireland for twelve years and travel to Cork very often, buying antiques. I am define telly painting this one, and will send for you to critique. I never new anything about Arnet, seems like his work is really great, and you make it even greater!! I have painted several of your pictures and I will soon get the courage to send them to you! you are the greatest, I like to thank Jon to tell us to change our settings, he is great!!
I didn’t realise there is a comments section. I have had an enjoyable afternoon watching Ginger paint and taking notes. This painting is awesome. Thank youxx
SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!
Thank you for the advice to change the resolution, Jon. That did the trick.
Has anyone else started to watch this yet? Just wondering if others are experiencing the same difficulty — the audio runs fine but the video is just jumping from freeze frame to freeze frame, only occasionally and briefly showing a brush stroke. I am up to the end of part three and they are all the same. I had just finished watching the lesson with the cast iron tea kettle without any problem at all.
Yes I’ve been having the same problem have you contacted Jon about this problem?
Mary, this lesson has been shot in 4K and you may have to set the player to a lower resolution depending on your internet speed. This can be done in the lower right corner of the player where the little “gear” is. Change to the 720p setting and you should be fine.
We have not heard of any problems with this lesson and several have finished it, so please try a lower resolution setting.
