In this lesson, "Crackle Coffee Cup with Books", Ginger shows you how to apply a special crackle "paste" to create the crackle effect before doing the final painting.
This is a little different technique that you can use many different ways, and this gives you an introduction to this new material so you can be thinking of other ways that you may apply it to your paintings.
The "Crackle Coffee Cup with Books" is painted on a 8"x10" stretched canvas using Ginger's standard palette of colors.
See "Supplies Needed" below.
This is a "Proficient Level" or what used to be known as a "3-Cookie" lesson.
This painting uses a "crackle paste" from Golden.
Crackle Paste is a thick, opaque material that cracks as it dries. The size and extent of the cracking pattern depend on the thickness of the application, and environmental conditions during drying and other factors. Dries to an opaque, matte finish, with an absorbent surface suitable for acrylic paints and mediums. (Item # 3557)
